How to write answers in exams
The Art of Writing Answers in the Examination
- Before starting to write answers, you are given some time to read the question paper. Use that time properly and read the question paper carefully.
- Mark those questions which you can answer correctly and easily.
- Attempt only that number of questions which are required to be answered. Do not attempt more questions than required.
- Follow the instructions given in the question paper carefully.
- First attempt those questions whose answers you know well.
- Write your answers in neat and legible handwriting.
- Write the number of each question clearly and correctly before its answer.
- Leave some space between two answers.
- The answers should be to the point and relevant. Avoid unnecessary details or irrelevant matter.
- Answers should be written in your own words.
- Important points should be underlined.
- If necessary, make use of diagrams, graphs, or tables and label them properly.
- Write answers in sequential order.
- If a question has sub-parts, write the answers of all parts together in order.
- Use the right side of the answer sheet only; do not write anything on the left margin except the question number.
- Maintain proper margin on both sides of the answer sheet.
- Write the answers in such a way that they are easily readable and presentable.
- Before submitting the answer sheet, go through your answers once again carefully and correct, if necessary.
